I’m feeling the Captain’s Itch

The title of this entry means absolutely nothing.  It just sounded good.

Does anyone know where it came from?

I really just don’t have much to say today.  We bought tickets to see A Town Called Panic at the Alamo Drafthouse this weekend.  We opted to wait until Sunday, it seemed like an excellent choice for a brunch matinee – and now I’m torn between the Creme Brulee French Toast and the giant breakfast burrito.  Good thing I have a few days to make my mind up.  Or convince Tara to go see another matinee on Saturday.

A Town Called Panic was one of my big misses at Fantastic Fest this year.  Both times it played, it was up against something I absolutely positively had to see, and it seemed like a good bet that it would get a theatrical run, at least in Austin.  So I opted to wait for it.  And it’s pained me ever since.  Why?  Well, check out this trailer – it’s subtitled (big surprise from me) -

Awesome, huh?  I’m excited.  Giddy, you might say.

And then on Monday we have tickets for Super Happy Fun Monkey Bash 2010, an Alamo Drafthouse produced compilation of Japanese TV clips that is always over the top, making my sides hurt, super happy hilarious.  I look forward to this all year long.

And at some point I’m dragging the wife off to see The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.  She doesn’t know it yet, but we’re going.

Some more Herzog will probably get squeezed in as well.  Because I now have 15 Herzog films in my collection.  Herzog for the win.

That’s a bingo.
