I should have been a zookeeper

And so I found a place, where everyone will know
My happy mustached face, this is the Cleveland show *giggle*

I’m writing this blog while The Cleveland Show is on in the background.  This does not speak well of The Cleveland Show.  I wouldn’t write during Family Guy.  I might write instead of watching, but if it’s on, I’m watching it (why do I feel the need to be so specific about that?).  The point is, I’m not impressed.

But Tara is correct, how can you not love that theme song!  Although I always hear it as “my happy mushroom face” which makes me think of Cleveland with a Mario Brothers mushroom face which is awesome.  Someone should draw me a picture of Cleveland with a Mario Brothers mushroom face.

I think they use 80% of their funny on Family Guy.  Then they have to make American Dad.  By the time they get to The Cleveland Show, they’ve only got 1% of the funny left.  And they use all of it on the theme song.

I have never seen an episode of 24.  I don’t feel like I’m missing anything.  I wonder if I am.

I’ve never seen an episode of Battlestar Galactica.  I’m pretty sure I’m missing something,  It’s a matter of time and priorities.  When I’m making my living as a writer, I will rectify this situation.  I promise.

I have no idea where this picture came from

I have no idea where this picture came from

I got up this morning and was looking at some pages in my browser.  I found this picture on one of my tabs.  I have no idea where I opened it from.  The URL was some obscure flickr account.  None of the other tabs that were open had any connection.  And it’s Ronald McDonald eating dismembered limbs.  I love it, but I’d still like to know where I found it.  Did you have anything to do with it?

There was much script work done today.  I’m writing my character vitals right now, which is to say I’m writing a background and personality for my the primary characters in my script.  Or as I like to think of it, I’m making people.  It’s amazing, because they start out as my creations, and then somewhere along the way they become something else.  At a certain point, I lose control and I’m just describing them.  It’s a bit like being a deity, without the consequences.

Although if one subscribes to the theory of multiple dimensions and alternate universes, it’s quite possible that as I write them an alternate univers springs into being and they become reality.  Which means that I’m a character in some other universe.  Which makes you all my supporting cast.  Suckers!

Did anyone see the Adult Swim commercial during Family Guy on Fox tonight?  Genius.  That’s why I love Adult Swim.

I was talking with my friend Matt Corley earlier today.  Matt is working on quite a project – he’s going to start an independent Professional Wrestling promotion in Austin.  Soon.  He’s been working with RCW in San Antonio for the last year or so, learning all he can and making connections.  Magnificent Bastard may or may not have something to do with it.  But that’s not important right now.  We were talking, and he said “I should have been a zookeeper”.

A few months ago, Tara and I were at the zoo, and I had the same epiphany.  I should have been a zookeeper.  I think as a young man I never made the jump from “study biology” to “be a zookeeper”.  Someone should have pointed out that subjects I didn’t like could have cool outcomes.  I believe my thought back then was “What the fuck does a biologist do?”  And I was pretty sure it involved microscopes and slides.  That interested me for 5 minutes.  I didn’t realize that somewhere in there was also “play with giraffes”.  If only I had been more creative in my thought processes at that age.  But creative didn’t come for another few decades.

At least it makes a good story.
